AI Art Is Here. Now What?

AI can make art now. Type a prompt and get an image. Is that art? Depends on who you ask.

The tools are incredible. Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL E. They can create things that would take a human hours in seconds. The quality is shocking.

Artists are scared. Rightfully so. If a client can type a prompt instead of hiring an illustrator, that illustrator loses work. It is happening already.

But AI does not replace artists. It replaces the need for artists in some contexts. The difference is subtle but real.

AI art has no intent. It does not mean anything. It is a statistical prediction of what an image should look like based on training data. It can be beautiful. It cannot be meaningful.

Artists who adapt will use AI as a tool. Sketch with AI, finish by hand. Generate ideas, refine them. The artists who refuse to adapt will struggle.

This has happened before. Photography did not kill painting. It changed it. AI will do the same.
